How many of you have ever received a letter in the mail from the Domain Name Registry of America (or Canada)? This is a company that solicits domain name transfers from other registrars in an attempt to steal legitimate business. From time to time we are asked by our clients, who are often in a state of panic, why they need to pay again or how our company could unknowingly let their domain name(s) expire without warning. Unfortunately this organization preys on the fear of domain name holders. When the rightful owner is frantic he or she may transfer away the .tld to a different registrar while completely over paying in the process. This shady practice is known as “domain slamming”.

Long story short, if you receive snail mail or electronic mail from this association please disregard, it is a hoax.
