Uptime is everything. During off peak hours I sleep with an iPhone on my nightstand. Our global server monitors check multiple services (HTTP, Email, DNS, FTP, MySQL, Ping) every sixty seconds. In the event of an outage the device is beeping, squelching, and vibrating like a doctor’s pager in the mid 1980s.
